The market of contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) industries in Asia Pacific is projected to be worth $143 billion by 2027 and will grow by 8.3% annually, responding to the rising demand for biological therapies and specialty medicines and increasing overall industry requirements. Therefore, the Asia region is becoming the dominating global CDMO market.
“Act for the Development of Biotech and Pharmaceutical Industry” implemented in Taiwan in 2022 involve not only new drug R&D companies but contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO), bringing the opportunities for transformation of Taiwan's biomedical industries. In the same way, the high growth of Thailand is due to increasing initiatives by the government to enhance its pharmaceutical industry and healthcare infrastructure, thus boosting demand for contract manufacturing.
In light of the similarities between Taiwan and Thailand in CDMO industries, the Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Industries Promotion Office (BPIPO) and the Thailand Center of Excellence for Life Sciences (TCELS) co-organize ‘’Taiwan-Thailand Pharma CDMO Business Seminar’’ and invite companies from both sides to present their solutions in the global supply chain. The purpose of this event is to create a platform to facilitate the development of pharma CDMO Business through international collaborations between Taiwan and Thailand.
